Dr. Daniel Knauss is a postdoctoral Fellow in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalytic Studies who provides psychotherapy and psychological testing at the Austen Riggs Center. Dr. Knauss earned his master’s degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy and his doctorate in clinical psychology at California Lutheran University. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Northern Arizona University Campus Health Services where he provided psychodynamic psychotherapy in an integrated care environment. Dr. Knauss has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology at private and public institutions and has also provided clinical supervision to psychology graduate students. He holds research interests in mentalization-informed approaches to psychotherapy and family violence.
