Call for Submissions: 2019 American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA) Poster Session
The American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA) is holding its 2019 National Meeting at the New York Hilton in New York City, February 6-10, 2019. Founded in 1911 and the oldest psychoanalytic organization in the United States, APsaA is a professional organization for psychoanalysts that focuses on education, research, and membership development.
A poster session is held as part of the annual national meeting; 2019 will mark the 18th annual poster session and it is being co-chaired by Austen Riggs Center Medical Director/CEO Dr. Andrew J. Gerber, Staff Psychologist Dr. Kate Gallagher and Research Psychologist Dr. Katie Lewis.
The title of the 2019 poster session, held on Friday, February 8, from 11:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. is Research Relevant to Theory and Practice in Psychoanalysis. The co-chairs state, “The poster session provides a forum for promoting innovative scholarship that addresses a wide range of topics within the field of psychoanalysis. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about advancements in psychoanalytic research and to network with colleagues who have a shared interest in research methodology and design. Our hope is to provide an inclusive space for interdisciplinary researchers to share their diverse work, exchange ideas, and engage in creative dialogue.”
Poster submissions should have relevance to psychoanalytic theory, technique, practice and effectiveness of psychoanalysis, or interdisciplinary scholarship addressing research questions in neighboring fields. As an added incentive, early career investigators who are first authors on posters will be eligible to compete for a $500 Poster Award.
