Joe Coleman is the Chief Financial and Operations Officer at the Austen Riggs Center. In this role, he leads the organization’s financial strategy and oversees key operational functions, including Development, Facilities, Dietary, and IT. As a core member of the Senior Leadership Team and primary financial advisor to the CEO and Board, he combines financial rigor, broad operational leadership, and a strong commitment to the Center’s mission and patient care.

Coleman’s background spans budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, risk management and governance, vendor and contract oversight, and building diverse, high-performing teams across functions and disciplines. As Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of JPMorgan’s Chief Investment Office, he oversaw a global organization that significantly simplified the CIO’s systems platform in support of a multi-hundred-billion-dollar global portfolio. He later served as a senior leader in Markets Technology and Quantitative Research managing shared technology and analytics services for the firm’s market making businesses.

Coleman is a custom furniture maker and member of the Berkshire Woodworkers Guild. He enjoys designing and building things that are beautiful and lasting. As he describes it, “This is quite similar to what I strived to do at JPM and will strive to do at Austen Riggs as well.”

Coleman enjoys mountain and gravel biking, running and walking in the woods with his dog.
