Margaret Kotarba, LICSW, is the associate director of clinical social work at the Austen Riggs Center, where she has worked since 1996. She holds a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from New York University (NYU), a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Warsaw, and a master’s degree in social work from SUNY Albany. In addition, she has received advanced certification in clinical supervision from Smith College. Margaret provides clinical supervision for clinical social workers at Riggs, initiated and organized Riggs’ first Multi-Family Educational Workshop (which she continues to lead regularly), and has been active in the Therapeutic Community Program. Her interests include psychodynamic family therapy and the dynamics of the co-therapy process.
