September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. In an effort to help raise awareness, we have compiled a listing of local events, free CE/CME courses, articles and videos, research, as well as links to other awareness month resources.
Riggs Treatment for Issues Around Suicide: Prior to coming to Riggs, more than half of our patients have made a near-lethal suicide attempt or struggled with suicidal ideation. Treatment in the open setting of Riggs isn’t right for everyone dealing with thoughts of suicide; it requires the capacity to balance the freedom of the open setting with the responsibility, as a member of our community, to keep oneself alive in order to have treatment.
If you are in crisis, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 for 24/7 free, confidential emotional support, or use their webchat.
