This discussion focuses on the unique mental health difficulties facing school-aged children within the current socio-political-economic landscape of mental health care. Particular emphasis is placed on issues related to access to care and equity for minority children and their families, particularly in relation to immigrant communities. Drs. Zayde and Soliman discuss their work, experience, and ways of thinking about the intersection of these social issues along with experiences of loneliness and belonging in the treatment of school-aged children and their families.
