Giving Back to the Austen Riggs Center
This is a time of year when many open their hearts and make charitable donations to organizations for which they feel an affinity. If you believe in the work of the Austen Riggs Center, we hope that you will consider a year-end gift and become part of our strong community of donors.
Our donors share a deep sense of connection to our mission—a connection that developed in a wide variety of ways, including, but not limited to
- former patients who wish to help ensure that others can benefit from the type of treatment that was so important in their lives;
- former patient families grateful for the care that their loved ones received and who want to make it available to others;
- clinicians who trained at Riggs or who were exposed to our treatment philosophy early in their careers, and want to preserve a way of thinking about psychiatric care; and
- members of our extended community who have attended an Erikson Institute conference, heard a presentation by a Riggs clinician, or who simply value the work we do and want to see it continue.
Regardless of the motivation for giving, the donations to the Austen Riggs Center themselves can have an enormous impact on the lives of patients who are here learning to take charge of their lives. And, because we are one of the nation’s top psychiatric hospitals, with a robust education and training program, the ripple effects of those gifts often extend to the broader world of mental health care.
