Abby Bliss, PsyD, is a postdoctoral Fellow in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies who provides 

Dr. Bliss has provided psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychological testing in a variety of settings including community mental health and college counseling. While on internship, Dr. Bliss also completed a post-graduate fellowship program through the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis.

Vivian Chan, MD, is a Fellow in hospital-based psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies at the Austen Riggs Center.

Dr. Chan completed her psychiatry residency at the Mount Sinai Morningside West Hospital Centers, where she worked in various clinical settings, including an outpatient psychiatric center and intensive outpatient program. She complimented her psychotherapy training with further instruction at the Psychoanalytic Association of New York.

Presented nationally at the American Psychiatric Association on promoting the practice and education of psychodynamic psychotherapy in psychiatric residencies

Completed a yearlong AOA Training in Policy Studies (TIPS) program

Shirin Kazimov, PsyD, is a postdoctoral Fellow in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies who provides psychotherapy and psychological testing at the Austen Riggs Center.

Dr. Kazimov has provided psychotherapy and psychological assessments in various settings, including forensic, academic, and community mental health clinics.

Through various diverse experiences, Kazimov has developed a holistic understanding of people’s needs, encompassing not only the biological, psychological, and social aspects but also the spiritual dimensions of human nature.

madeline river, PsyD, is a postdoctoral Fellow in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies who provides psychotherapy and psychological testing at the Austen Riggs Center.

Dr. river has provided psychological assessment and psychoanalytic psychotherapy in community mental health clinics, academic medical centers, and psychiatric hospital settings.

While pursuing a doctoral degree in Washington DC, they completed a psychoanalytic fellowship with the Washington-Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis. They also served as the event planning assistant for the Contemporary Freudian Society and participated in the CFS psychoanalytic fellowship program for three years.

Through their experiences in psychoanalytic communities both in the United States and in Vienna, Austria, Dr. river has developed an appreciation for the ways in which intrapsychic, familial, institutional, and cultural contexts shape identity and relationships.

Hannah Schmitt, PsyD, is a postdoctoral Fellow in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies who provides psychotherapy and psychological testing at the Austen Riggs Center.

Before starting at Riggs, she trained in university, outpatient community health, and inpatient hospital settings. Her dissertation used a dynamic systems lens to compare rupture and repair in the therapeutic alliance with body movement synchrony during therapy sessions. Her clinical interests include enactive cognition, gender and sexuality, and somatic and contemplative traditions as they relate to psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Kyle Shepard, DO, is a Fellow in hospital-based psychotherapy and psychoanalytic studies at the Austen Riggs Center.

Before starting at the Austen Riggs Center he worked as an inpatient attending physician at the Institute of Living where he had the pleasure of teaching medical students, psychiatry residents, and psychology trainees.
