This presentation will describe the role of enactments in the experience of patients as “difficult.” A list of transference-countertransference paradigms will be discussed that contribute to the difficulty of work with abuse survivors, and clinical examples provided. This presentation will also discuss shared elements of psychotherapy across therapy schools of thought in work with suicidal patients.
