Laura M. O'Neill, LICSW, is a clinical social worker with the Austen Riggs Center. Laura received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Smith College and went on to receive her Master of Social Work degree from the Smith College School for Social Work. She has practiced in outpatient community mental health, crisis evaluation and inpatient psychiatric settings. Laura’s experience, prior to Austen Riggs, was predominantly with adults and families providing psychotherapy, case management, family therapy and psychoeducation. She has also supervised MSW students from the Smith College School for Social Work and enjoyed this role tremendously. She has published and presented on the relationship between psychopathy and sexual violence, and continues to have research interests in the intersection of antisocial and narcissistic personality development, early attachment experiences, trauma and aggression.
