Austen Riggs Center Institutional Review Board
The Austen Riggs Center Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversees research conducted by ARC staff, and which involves either the recruitment of human subjects or the utilization of human subjects data. The IRB must review and approve research protocols before they commence, and monitors the research throughout the life of the study. IRB operations are under the purview of the Institutional Official.
IRB Members include ARC clinical and non-clinical staff, ARC clinical Fellows, ARC alumni, and representatives of our regional community. Members are appointed by the Institutional Official – who oversees IRB operations - for three-year, renewable terms. There are nine voting and four alternate members. Alternates may be appointed by the IRB Chair to review protocols or to vote as needed, such as when a voting member is absent or has a conflict of interest.
Voting Members: Steven Ackerman, PhD (Chair); Daniel Knauss, PsyD (Vice-Chair); Marina Bayeva, MD, PhD; Dave Belliveau, CISSP, C/CISO; Anne O’Dwyer, PhD; Jeremy Ridenour, PsyD; Brooke Storti; Kate Washington; Elizabeth Weinberg, MD
