Master Stained Glass Artist, Debora Coombs to Exhibit at Lavender Door Gallery in Stockbridge MA
June 20, 2014 – Stockbridge, MA – The Lavender Door Gallery at 37 Main Street in Stockbridge, MA is thrilled to announce an upcoming exhibition by Debora Coombs, a master stained glass artist based in Readsboro, VT.
There will be an opening reception for the exhibition on Wednesday, June 25 from 5:00-6:30pm at the Lavender Door Gallery on 37 Main Street in Stockbridge, MA. The exhibit itself will continue through Friday, July 25.
Ms. Coombs will be exhibiting several finished pieces as well as behind the scenes aspects of her craft such as templates, cut glass and the large scale working drawings she uses to create her windows. In addition, she will display a piece she is making specifically for a window in the Lavender Door Gallery. Her latest project, a collaboration with the artist Darren Waterston can be seen currently at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. She was commissioned by Mr. Waterson to create the ceiling lamps for "Filthy Lucre" which is his recreation of the fabled Peacock Room, originally designed by James MacNeil Whistler. The Lavender Door Gallery is a space where both Riggs patients, who work as students of professional artisans and local artist exhibit their work for the benefit of everyone in the community.
