    Personality disorders (including borderline personality disorder) are one of the most common diagnoses patients contend with when seeking residential treatment at the Austen Riggs Center. Many of our clinicians present and publish widely on personality disorders, as well as many other topics. In an effort to share learning and generate conversation, Riggs curates a broad selection of resources on our website.

    The Austen Fox Riggs Library is pleased to announce its most recent offering to its patron community and beyond: public online access to its electronic library catalog! As the first dynamic component of the new library page on the Austen Riggs Center website, this online library catalog supports title, author, subject and keyword searches of current library holdings and provides supplementary information concerning item location and checkout availability.

    From January 12 to 16, the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA), which is the oldest national psychoanalytic organization, will hold its 2016 National Meeting. This annual gathering brings more than 2000 mental health professionals, educators, researchers and students who are curious about psychoanalysis, together to enjoy psychoanalytic programming, networking and other stimulating content.

    “It’s wild.” says Riggs Theatre Director (and Shakespeare & Company Education Director) Kevin G. Coleman of the upcoming Riggs Theatre 37 production The Patsy, adapted from Georges Feydeau’s Le Dindon, translated by Greg Leaming.

    The 2015 Psychodynamic Graduate Training in Psychology: Crises, Challenges and Opportunities II is an opportunity for training directors at graduate programs and internships, staff and students, or as conference director Marilyn Charles, PhD, ABPP, stated, “anyone trying to support psychodynamic work at a graduate level” to come together, identify areas of shared concern, work toward solutions and develop a supportive social network. The conference will be held at the Austen Riggs Center on October 3-4, 2015.

  • 2015 Nef Scholarship Winners

    Each year since 2000, the Erikson Institute of the Austen Riggs Center has awarded the Evelyn Stefansson Nef Scholarship to three graduating high school seniors who have been selected for their academic achievements, pursuit of study in the social sciences or pre-medicine and their leadership in the community.
