Dr. David F Flynn is the Director of Psychiatric Education and the Associate Director of Admissions at the Austen Riggs Center. A board certified psychiatrist, Dr. Flynn has published and presented on the topic of treatment resistance and psychodynamic psychopharmacology. His current areas of interest include psychodynamic psychopharmacology, the nocebo phenomenon, and applied psychoanalysis in film studies.
Dr. Flynn received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Emory University and went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. During his residency training in psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. Flynn completed the Fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Dr. Flynn completed the Fellowship and Advanced Fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Austen Riggs Center before joining the Medical Staff in 2011.
