Austen Riggs welcomes and encourages open discussion on our social media sites – including but not limited to our blogs, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn or others. Our top priority is to maintain patient privacy. The Center will make every effort to monitor participation and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. The Austen Riggs Center reserves the right to review, edit, and/or delete any comments it deems inappropriate. Comments including but not limited to the following may be deleted or edited by the moderators:
- Comments that violate the privacy of our patients, alumni and their families.
- Abusive or harmful comments (including comments with foul language, personal attacks, defamatory statements, or hate speech).
- Outside advertising of events or websites not affiliated with Austen Riggs (SPAM).
The opinions and or views expressed on the Austen Riggs Center's social media platforms represent the thoughts of individual bloggers and online communities, and are not those necessarily of the Austen Riggs Center or its affiliates, employees or Board of Trustees. When you are posting, please write in the first person to make it clear that you are speaking for yourself and not on behalf of the Austen Riggs Center.
The Austen Riggs Center discourages staff members from “friending” patients and their family members directly. If you would like to stay connected with an Austen Riggs staff member who is blogging, please follow us on the social media platform.
Please note, comments can be viewed by anyone on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. If you are posting in a protected area of the Austen Riggs Center's website, only the applicable community will be able to see your post (Alumni Forum or Clinician Forum). These are protected spaces within our website to allow you to connect with other members of the forum.
