The Erikson Institute for Education and Research at the Austen Riggs Center will hold its monthly Film Forum, featuring author and Erikson Scholar John Kerr , at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, at the Austen Riggs Center, 25 Main St.
The Film Forum will feature a recent movie based on Kerr’s book, "A Most Dangerous Method: The Story of Jung, Freud & Sabina Spielrein." Kerr will also lead the post-screening discussion.
Admitted to a Swiss hospital at the age of 18, Sabina Spielrein became Carl Jung’s "test case," then his friend, then his lover, and ultimately his protégé. The movie recounts how the complex triangle between Spielrein, Jung and Sigmund Freud decisively affected both theory and politics in the early psychoanalytic movement.
The Film Forum is free and open to the public with no reserved seating.
