The Skin I Live In is a psychological thriller about trauma, revenge, and loss of personal identity. The film presents the story of a mysterious young woman trapped in the home of a brilliant plastic surgeon for an unknown reason. The viewer's sympathy for the characters switches back and forth as the story progresses through a series of flashbacks, prompting questions about the limits of appropriate punishment and the centrality of sexuality and the body to identity. Images of sexual violence.
