Cathleen M. Morey, LICSW, is the Director of Clinical Social Work, clinical supervisor and family therapist at the Austen Riggs Center. She has published in the areas of family therapy, suicidality and schizophrenia, and has presented and taught on the topics of interdisciplinary treatment teams, family therapy, suicidality, intergenerational family dynamics and enactment of family dynamics.
Ms. Morey received her Master of Social Work degree from Smith College and her Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Massachusetts. Her past experience includes working as an outpatient psychotherapist in a community mental health center and as a clinician in a correctional facility. Ms. Morey has also been involved in child welfare advocacy, serving on the board of directors of Berkshire Children and Families, a local child welfare agency. She has also advocated for statewide system reform to aid children in need of permanent homes through education and legislative lobbying.
