Dr. Stevens received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Michigan in 1999, at which time she entered the post-doctoral Fellowship in psychology at the Austen Riggs Center. Following her completion of the Fellowship in 2003, she was hired as an Austen Riggs Center staff psychologist. Dr. Stevens went on to pursue psychoanalytic training at the William Alanson White Institute in New York City and after completing her training, she returned to the Austen Riggs Center as a staff psychologist. Since her return to the Center in 2008, Dr. Stevens has held several internal positions; she is a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor of psychotherapy, teaching faculty member, psychotherapy consultant, admissions officer and served as the Chair of External Education for three years. Dr. Stevens has been named the Director of Training effective January 1, 2014. She also continues her longstanding position as Associate Editor of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, the journal of the William Alanson White Institute.
