The Fellowship at Austen Riggs: A Formative Developmental Experience

The Austen Riggs Center offers a full-time four year Fellowship for both psychologists and psychiatrists that is fully accredited as a psychoanalytic training program by the Accreditation Council for Psychoanalytic Education (ACPEinc).

Director of Training Jennifer Stevens, PhD, calls the Fellowship a "unique training experience in a specialized form of psychoanalytic clinical work that has all but disappeared from the clinical training world."

Psychiatrists are also eligible to apply for a two-year Fellowship. “Alongside the many other benefits of the Fellowship, psychiatrists in the two-year program are trained in psychodynamically-informed prescribing, an invaluable and nuanced way of working with treatment-resistant patients and their relationship to medication,” says Director of Psychiatric Education David F. Flynn, MD.

In the video below, Psychology Fellow Amy Taylor, PhD, talks about her experience of the Fellowship at Riggs. For more information, please visit: www.austenriggs.org/fellowship.
