Fees

Austen Riggs offers a range of programs, from the initial six-week intensive evaluation and treatment phase, to other residential, day treatment and aftercare programs.  Fees range from $1,155/day at the highest level of evaluation and treatment to $205/day for Aftercare. While the length of stay can vary, individuals are strongly encouraged to stay for the full 6-week period of intensive evaluation and treatment, and a pre-payment of $47,000 is required on the day of admission.  This pre-payment covers most of the cost of the first several weeks of treatment, depending on program admitted to, as well as the pre-admission consultation fee of $1,200. The 6-week evaluation and treatment phase cost ranges from approximately $45,000 to $47,000, depending on the level of care.

The average cost per day for someone who stays several months and is able to access the step-down programs is $700/day. Based on need, Riggs offers fee reductions ranging from 5 to 25 percent. A completed fee reduction application received during the course of treatment at Riggs will lead to a comprehensive review of the current treatment plan in the context of the available financial resources. A 3% prompt payment discount is available to those who are not otherwise eligible for a fee reduction. This prompt payment discount is not available for the pre-payment or when fees are paid by credit card.
