Organizational Consultation Through the Erikson Institute

The pace of change today regularly challenges organizations and sometimes creates disarray. Leaders can lose focus. Roles and tasks become confusing. Relationships with clients or with boards become strained. Staff become disheartened and embattled. The work and the workers suffer. One of the core interests of the Erikson Institute is in working with organizations to address these issues.

Part of Austen Riggs Center’s Community Outreach Program, our Consultation Service (EICS) brings a dynamic systems perspective to this consultative work.

Based on the conviction that organizations succeed by learning from the experience of employees in their work roles, the EICS offers organizational assessment and intervention in the service of understanding the systemic obstacles to an organization’s achieving its goals.

Staffed by experienced Riggs clinicians and serving primarily human service organizations in Berkshire County and the surrounding area, the EICS offers focused, short-term consultation on a pro bono or low-fee basis.
